Bookkeeping for sole traders and small limited companies in West London.
Khalkedon Bookkeeping keeps the day to day records that sit underneath your accounts. Sales, purchases, receipts, reconciliations, and the year end pack your accountant needs.
The practice was founded in 2022 by Muzeyyen Erdogan G., who does the work herself.
What we handle
Bookkeeping is the year round record keeping underneath your accounts. It is separate work from accountancy, and it is all this practice does.
Day to day records
Sales, purchases and expenses recorded and categorised as they happen, rather than reconstructed from a carrier bag of receipts in January.
Bank reconciliation
Every statement matched line by line against the ledger, so the balance on your books is the balance in the account, and any gap is found while it is still small.
Sales invoices
Invoices raised, sent and tracked, with a standing view of what is outstanding and how long it has been owed. Chasing on request.
Receipts and expenses
Receipts captured and filed against the right transaction, including the cash spending that usually goes unrecorded and quietly costs you the deduction.
Year end handover
A complete, reconciled set of books passed to your accountant in the format they ask for, with the obvious queries already answered.
Where this work ends
We do not file your annual accounts, your corporation tax return or your self assessment. That is your accountant’s work, and it is a different qualification, which is why we are careful about the line.
What we do is hand them books that are already right. That is usually the difference between a quiet year end and an expensive one, and it is the part most small businesses are missing.
How we start
Four steps, and nothing is owed until the second one is agreed.
A first conversation
We go through how your records are kept now, what state they are in and what you actually need. Usually half an hour, and there is no charge for it.
A written quote
Fixed for the work agreed, so the cost is known before anything begins. Priced per business, because two sets of books of the same size rarely take the same time.
The monthly routine
Records kept current month by month instead of left to build up. Questions get answered by the person with your ledger open, not passed along.
Year end
Books closed, reconciled and handed to your accountant, with a note of anything they are likely to ask about.
Fees and payment
Fees are quoted per business after the first conversation rather than taken from a price list, and are fixed for the work agreed. Payment by cash or card.
The practice
Khalkedon Bookkeeping is a one person practice. Muzeyyen Erdogan G. founded it in 2022 and does the bookkeeping herself, which means the person who answers your email is the person with your ledger open.
It is deliberately small. Entries are checked rather than imported and assumed correct, and only a limited number of clients are taken on at a time. If a set of books needs more hours than the practice has, you will be told at the first conversation rather than after.
